Family-Friendly Wildlife and Whale Watching Tours
Our whale watching adventures and wildlife boat tours are family friendly and take place on the pristine waters off the coast of Morro Bay, a hidden gem on the coast of California. We have an abundance of wildlife here year round! Sightings of Whales, Porpoise, Sea Lions, Sea Otters, Harbor Seals and a variety of Sea Birds are common on the whale watching trips. In addition to whale watching trips we have a other wildlife cruises for those that would like to go boating and see some of the animals that live close to shore without the commitment of going offshore to see whales. All ages are welcome on our tours!
Although whales are spotted year-round along the Pacific Coast, the Humpback whales arrive here in April and stay in our bay feeding through December. During the entire summer the Humpback whales are actively feeding near the surface in groups of 2 to 10 whales.
Each year, Grey whales travel past our bay migrating south starting in mid-December and the migration is typically in full swing by the first week of January. Then in late February they begin heading north and this continues until mid-April.
What to Bring / Wear
For all of our Morro Bay whale watching and wildlife tours, you should dress for possible cold, wet conditions! We recommend dressing in layers so that you can adjust with temperature changes. Our boat is open for the best wildlife viewing possible, that means we are exposed to the elements including wind and the possibility of getting wet.
We also suggest bringing sunscreen, a camera and binoculars. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages, as well.
